Understanding My World Through My Personal Creations 

Carolyn Hadsell is a potter who has worked in clay for over 30 years.  Dundee Montessori children benefit from her clay background in our "Clay Images" program!  Students make award-winning handmade pottery projects, which have proven to become family keepsakes. The school has a kiln and we glaze and fire projects on site.

Understanding My World Through Creative Outlets 

Owner, Carolyn Hadsell, has a BFA in Art Ed. K-12, and years of experience teaching art to children and adults.  

Montessori lacks art? Not here!  

Music
Understanding My World Through Singing, Dancing and Movement 

Daily music, movement, or yoga compliments our program of old traditional folk songs and rhythm instrument playing.  One of the favorite activities is singing and dancing to our Appalachian dulcimer. 

Japanese
Understanding My World Through the Use of Other Languages 

Carolyn taught Montessori in Tokyo for two years. She is able to bring exposure to Japanese language and customs to your child. We teach colors, numbers, names of animals and songs. Daily attendance is taken in Japanese and children celebrate holidays such as Hina Matsuri. 

Tumble Bus Gymnastics 

Once a week, an exceptional gymnastics program rolls up to our door.  It is a favorite activity for children who choose to enroll. 

Play
Understanding My World Through the Enjoyment of Childhood 

Parents have consistently been grateful that Dundee Montessori fulfills their child's natural need for play in our after-school program. Play is normally not part of a Montessori curriculum. 

Summer
Understanding That My World Is Fun
